My friend sadly passed last year and we held his wake at this pub, the owners were amazing and the community came together to say goodby to Dave, a year later family and friends booked for lunch to celebrate his life, 15 plus local people who have been patrons for so many years, cancelled by the new owners at the last minute as the numbers had grown. A community pub being let down by new owners who have no idea about community. Shame on you for letting the community down.

Lovely pub, friendly service and delicious food and ales. Our lunch mix of sandwich, tapas and stuffed mushrooms were worth the slightly long wait.
Absolutely do no book this place through group on.. booked a two course meal for 2 people for my husbands birthday ... trying to keep the cost down. We live in Pangbourne so was a long way for us to come but we love Windsor so we thought we would make it work. Called last week to book the table and mentioned the Groupon deal too....when we got there we were told they do not honour Gropon deals as this was something the previous owners set up who went bankrupt last year. It's not the staffs fault as they were left in a awkward position by the new owners who have clearly done nothing to stop this from happening to people. So we left as not prepared to pay for a meal for a second time ...
As of Dec 2018 it is under new management. Really enjoyed my last visit. Beer was kept really well.
